Full siding installation using vinyl, fiber cement, engineered wood, and steel β done right the first time.
We install all major siding materials β each one matched to your home, your budget, and Louisville's climate.
The most popular siding material in the country β and for good reason. Modern vinyl is thicker, more fade-resistant, and available in hundreds of profiles and colors. It requires almost no maintenance, handles moisture exceptionally well, and delivers solid long-term value.
π 20β40 year lifespanJames Hardie and similar fiber cement products deliver the look of wood without the maintenance liability. Doesn't rot, doesn't attract insects, holds paint beautifully, and is one of the most durable siding options available. Built for Louisville's climate.
π 30β50 year lifespanLP SmartSide and similar products deliver a genuine wood aesthetic with dramatically improved moisture resistance over traditional wood. They take paint and stain naturally, but are manufactured with moisture-resistant resins that standard wood doesn't have.
π 25β35 year lifespanThe most durable option available. Steel doesn't crack, resists denting significantly better than vinyl, and won't rot under any circumstances. Built for homeowners who prioritize longevity and live in areas with heavy storm and hail exposure.
π 50+ year lifespanProfessional selection, professional installation β a home transformation that lasts decades.
It changes the look of your home completely, tightens up the building envelope, and removes whatever problems were hiding behind the old siding. When it's done with shortcuts, problems show up in 5 years β at the joints, the corners, and the transitions no one was careful with.
Louisville Roofing & Siding installs siding for homeowners throughout the Louisville metro. We'll walk your home, discuss material options, and give you a clear price so you know exactly what you're getting.
Day 1 β Tear-off and substrate inspection. The crew removes all existing siding, including trim, corner pieces, and J-channel. Once the old material is off, we inspect the sheathing beneath. Any damaged or rotted sheathing gets replaced before anything goes back on. This is the step most contractors skip β and where future problems start.
Day 1β2 β Moisture barrier installation. A proper house wrap or moisture barrier goes on over the clean sheathing. This layer allows vapor to escape from the wall assembly while blocking liquid water from getting in. We overlap seams correctly and tape all penetrations.
Day 2β3 β Panel installation. Siding panels go up from the bottom of the wall to the top, with each row properly lapped or locked depending on the product. We work carefully around windows, doors, corners, and penetrations β this is where the detail work is.
Day 3β4 β Trim, finishing, and caulk. Corner pieces, J-channel, window trim, door trim, and soffit transitions all get installed and properly caulked. This is the finish carpentry of a siding project β it determines how clean the final product looks.
Final walkthrough. We do a complete walkthrough with you before we're done. Any areas that need touch-up get handled before we leave the job.
This is where most installation shortcuts happen β and where most installation failures start:
A full siding installation is a significant investment β typically $10,000 to $25,000 or more depending on home size and material. For localized damage, targeted repair is often the smarter financial decision. But there are clear situations where a full installation is the right call.
We'll give you an honest assessment of which situation you're in. We do both installation and repair β we'll tell you which makes more sense for your home without pushing the bigger job.
Louisville's climate puts real stress on exterior building materials. Summers are hot and humid β moisture vapor presses against the building envelope from the outside while air conditioning pulls from inside. Winters bring freeze-thaw cycles that work into any crack or gap in the siding. Spring storm season brings hail, wind-driven rain, and severe weather that tests everything.
Homes in the Louisville area also sit on mature lots with trees, shade, and landscaping that create persistent moisture and debris exposure. We see a lot of north-facing walls with moisture issues and shaded sections where panels stay damp longer after rain. Material selection and installation quality both matter significantly in this environment.
Siding that's properly installed with correct flashing and moisture management performs dramatically better than the same material installed with shortcuts. The difference shows up years down the road β at the joints, corners, and transitions around windows and doors.
We're a local contractor, not a storm-chasing crew from out of state. We know Louisville's neighborhoods, we know the climate challenges homes here face, and we'll show up when we say we will.
A typical full siding installation on a single-family home takes two to four days. We clean up completely each day and do a final walkthrough with you before we consider the job done. If something isn't right, we make it right before we leave.
